Our Health and Wellness
I’ve been learning a lot recently about how personal illness/ailment is not really that person’s fault, rather is a symptom of an unhealthy society.
There is a great interview with Daniel Schmachtenberger on this topic.
I also came across a free workshop by Gabor Maté stating the same. I also came across a video where he, along with Rabbi David Wolpe, was interviewed, and just by reading the comments on this interview, I am not sure I want to read his book, and would rather continue delving deeper into this topic elsewhere, with someone who takes a different stance with regards to Israel, cuz I’m getting hints that his stance would make me quite livid, and I don’t really feel like feeling livid at the moment. Maybe some other time…
I cannot tell you how many times I feel like I am losing steam and then I step outside and all is well.
Jane Brody wrote an Op-Ed article in the New York Times years ago about Nature Deficit Disorder.
I hear the term Adult-Onset ADHD and I wonder is it really that? Or is modern society just so darn complicated and fragmented that it forces multi-tasking (unless one works really hard with mindfulness practices!).
We have too many things on our plate.
Is it Adult-Onset ADHD? Does it have to be that?
What if society has ADHD?
Why does the onus have to lie on the person?
Our culture is very individualistic, as opposed to other cultures which are more collective.
This idea really comes to the fore when people are suffering.
I hope the work continues to be done to take the onus off the individual and onto how we as a society can change and can support each other.
